#SaveTheDirt and share your story

Monday is April 4 – known to some as 4×4 Day. How does a Jeep® brand owner celebrate 4×4 Day? They skip the carwash until after April 4, of course! Wearing their dirt, snow, mud (whatever!) with pride, real 4×4 enthusiasts know it’s a badge of honor. And with it generally comes a story. Now, in celebration of the 75th anniversary celebration and acknowledging “We don’t make Jeep, you do,” the Jeep brand is launching a yearlong “My Jeep story” campaign. Jeep brand owners can share their stories via picture, text or video on “As we mark the 75-year milestone of the Jeep brand, there is no other brand that is able to embrace its global community in a way that invites these individual and compelling stories that have also shaped their own, personal journeys,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, FCA Global. “Our Super Bowl campaign firmly acknowledged ‘We Don’t Make Jeep, You Do,’ recognizing that the rightful ownership of the brand resides uniquely within its fans, followers and owners. ‘My Jeep Story’ will help bring to life and pay tribute to the true spirit and humanity that has come to embody the brand.” Helping to launch the campaign, musical artist Ciara made a special appearance at Camp Jeep during the New York Auto Show on Wednesday, March … Read More

Ram Trucks, ACMs partner to Party for a Cause in Vegas

You may recall when Ram Trucks successfully set a Guinness World Record™ for the longest parade of trucks during the three-day ACM Party for a Cause® Festival. It may not seem like it but it’s been a year and this year’s festival is right around the corner. The fourth ACM Party for a Cause® Festival will take place April 1-3, 2016, at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The Academy of Country Music and Ram Trucks are continuing their partnership and the Ram Trucks Main Stage will be a focus for many headline artists such as Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley and Kenny Chesney. In addition to the Ram Trucks Main Stage, country music fans will have an opportunity to participate in the Ram Ride & Drive Test Track. Jump in the passenger seat as a professional driver steers you through an obstacle course that puts the truck through a series of capability challenges. Raminator will be in attendance again this year, wowing attendees with car-crushing demonstrations. And for those who want to get up close and personal with the monster truck, there will be photo opportunities and autographs available as well. Ticket proceeds from the festival benefit ACM Lifting Lives, the Academy’s charitable arm whose mission is to help others through music. Anyone interested in attending the event can purchase either … Read More

There is a new “cool kid” in town

The first Chrysler Pacifica rolled off the line a few weeks ago. Starting at $29,590 (including the $995 destination fee), with a highway mpg of 28, the all-new Pacifica is definitely a head turner. But cool, you ask? Isn’t it still a minivan? Why, yes, it is. And given today’s ever-expanding definition of what is cool, the Pacifica hits the mark on many levels. I had the opportunity recently to chat one-on-one with Chrysler Brand Product Manager Patrick Keitz. He’s part of the team behind the all-new Pacifica and when you talk with him, you can’t help but feel his excitement and passion for this new vehicle. What’s so great about the all-new Chrysler Pacifica? For starters, it’s not just a family vehicle. It’s an everyone vehicle. Consider the possibilities for those whose vehicle is also their home-office: • There is seating for up to eight without losing your cargo space in the back so you can transport clients while your work gear is stowed safely (and out of sight) in the back. • A lower step-in height allows anyone to get in and out with ease. • The second row seats tilt forward to provide ample access to the third row. Or access the third row from the aisle between the second row seats. Either way, no more awkward … Read More

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a Jeep® Renegade!

Specifically, it’s Batman in a Jeep® Renegade in the upcoming movie Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. You may have seen the latest Jeep Renegade ad, featuring Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice Special Edition as Metropolis is being destroyed all around him. The partnership joined FCA US LLC and Warner Bros. Pictures to produce the 30-second spot. Entitled, Into the Storm, actual movie clips highlight the rugged aspects of the Jeep brand’s youngest model, while giving moviegoers a sneak peek at some of what they might expect when the movie hits theaters on March 25, 2016. As you watched the action-packed ad, you probably already noticed – the Renegade isn’t the only FCA vehicle on the Metropolis city streets as Wayne powers through the explosions and piles of rubble. Look closely. “Thanks to an extensive brand and product portfolio, we were able to address every automobile need for the movie including Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, FIAT, Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and from our sister company CNH Industrial, Iveco heavy-duty commercial vehicles,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, FCA Global. “With much of the film’s production taking place in our own backyard of Detroit, our ability to creatively collaborate with the WB team reached new heights,” continued Francois, giving a nod to the Motor City. … Read More

Leap year proves positive for auto sales, FCA reports record February

February is a month known for many things, but not typically for record automobile sales. Until this year. With nine vehicles setting new sales records, FCA US LLC reported a 12 percent increase in U.S. sales and the best February since 2006. It also marks the company’s 71st-consecutive month in year-over-year sales gains. “Continued strong consumer demand for our Jeep® vehicles drove the Jeep brand to its best February sales ever, while our Ram pickup truck and Ram vans recorded their best February sales ever,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales. So which vehicles are in such high demand? Let’s take a look. Both the Chrysler 300 and Town & Country recorded increases over last year’s sales. With the all-new Chrysler Pacifica making its entrance onto the market later this spring (the hybrid version is expected to arrive in the fall of 2016), Chrysler-brand customers will have plenty to “oo and ah” over in the months to come. The Dodge Grand Caravan and Durango boasted huge increases for the brand (95 and 22 percent, respectively), clinching a 12 percent overall increase for February. Not to be left in the dust, the Challenger and Journey each posted their best February sales ever. With no numbers from last year to compare, the brand new FIAT® 500X recorded a 52 percent month-over-month … Read More
