May 5 marks the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby®.
It also marks the ninth year the “greatest two minutes in sports” will have Ram as its “Official Truck” of Churchill Downs®.
To commemorate the momentous occasion, the Ram truck brand unveiled a limited Kentucky Derby Edition of the all-new 2019 Ram 1500.
“The Kentucky Derby has long been among America’s most cherished sporting events,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand – FCA US LLC.
“The close ties between Ram trucks and the equine community have led us to the introduction of the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition. The Ram 1500 is a no-compromise truck that delivers capability, durability, technology and safety and is well-suited to meet the needs of all kinds of owners, including those who love horses.”
The special edition truck will feature “Run for the Roses” fender graphics based off the historic race, as well as introduce a new Ivory White Tri Coat paint. This marks the first time a body-colored appearance package will be available on the all-new Ram 1500 limited edition.
Kentucky Derby Edition buyers will also get to choose from five additional exterior colors: Delmonico Red, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Max Steel or Patriot Blue. Additionally, special edition trucks will be available in 4×2 or 4×4 crew cab configurations, with a five-foot, seven-inch bed length.
On the inside, the Kentucky Derby Edition offers maximum comfort with premium full-leather front and rear reclining seats with heating and cooling, genuine wood and metal trim.
Fans attending the race or watching the event on TV will be immersed in a Ram truck brand experience. At Churchill Downs, attendees will take notice of on-site truck displays, video board integrations, backcountry and trackside signage, and much more.
In addition, Ram television spots will run throughout the NBC network telecasts. Ram will also post on their social media channels, letting fans join the conversation through the hashtag, #RamDerby.
