Why we’re all (secretly) awaiting the premiere of The Fate of the Furious

Fun. Loud. Sexy. Adrenaline-pumping.

These are the words I think of when someone mentions the Fast & Furious.

Make reference to the movie franchise around others and you will likely get a plethora of reactions from the group. What I find most humorous about those reactions is that many (dare I say most) have a love-hate relationship with the film series – they hate that they love them.

But isn’t entertainment the whole point of watching a movie? Spending two hours picking apart the acting quality and/or the underlying meaning of a film just doesn’t sound much fun to me.

However, put some seriously hot cars, driven by attractive people, in larger-than-life, big-screen situations that will have you on the edge of your seat and now we’re talking! And, whether anyone else will admit it or not, these are the reasons the Fast & Furious movie franchise is so popular and why so many (including me) are anxiously anticipating the eighth film in the series.

Alas, it is still more than a month away. (It’s scheduled for release on April 14, 2017.)

Meanwhile, to keep driving the anticipation, Dodge has created new television spots that include clips from the movie. Check out “Muscle Heaven” here.

“Fast Dodge cars, adrenaline-filled action and family have fueled the Fast & Furious franchise from the beginning,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA-North America. “For more than 15 years, the Fast & Furious series has showcased some of the world’s most iconic and significant performance vehicles and The Fate of the Furious will continue this tradition.”

Dodge vehicles taking their place onscreen for the latest film will include old favorites and highly-anticipated new characters alike. The all-new 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will play a featured role. And returning to make her eighth appearance is the familiar and beloved 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, driven exclusively by Dom.

Why Dodge, you ask?

David O’Connor, Executive Vice President of Global Franchise Management and Brand Strategy, Universal Pictures, said it best. “Time and again, [Dodge has] proven their commitment to ensuring that the cars are just as beloved characters as the family members who form the heart of the series.”
