The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica reigns supreme in the Lone Star State.
The FCA US LLC minivan had a big day as it won multiple awards at the recently held 2018 Texas Auto Roundup, including Family Car of Texas and Minivan of Texas. The honors marked the third consecutive instance the Chrysler Pacifica received top Family Car and Minivan awards.
“The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica won our Family Car of Texas award by an overwhelming majority vote,” said Michael Marrs, President of the Texas Automotive Writers Association (TAWA). “For the third year in a row, our members were impressed with Pacifica’s combination of technology, styling, functionality, versatility and family-friendly features.”
Additionally, the 2018 Pacifica Hybrid took home the honors for Green Vehicle of Texas. This continues a tremendous year of recognition for the hybrid minivan after being a finalist at the 2018 World Car Awards for Green Car of the Year. The Pacifica Hybrid is the first electrified vehicle in the minivan segment and achieves 84 miles per gallon equivalent in electric-only mode and 33 miles of all-electric range.
The spring event from TAWA brought together dozens of journalists around the state to drive and evaluate 46 cars, CUVs and SUVs that are sold in Texas. TAWA media members will gather again for their fall driving event, the Texas Truck Rodeo.
This honor comes as the Chrysler Pacifica – which Car and Driver gave an overall rating of five stars – is expanding in 2018 by adding an S Appearance Package, which sports a customized, athletic look highlighting black accents inside and out. Additional updates for the 2018 model year include upgraded Uconnect 4 systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and standard SafetyTec across all hybrid and gasoline models.
News of the award should go over well with comedic actress, Kathryn Hahn.
As Car and Driver declares, “No minivan does it better than the Chrysler Pacifica.”
