All-new or American classic, FCA US proves APEAL-ing to consumers

The 2017 J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study™ was recently released and Dodge Challenger proved that it’s classic, sleek lines, throaty exhaust note and muscle-car attitude can still smoke the competition. For the fifth time in seven years, Challenger took the top spot in the Midsize Sporty Car segment.

Not to be outdone by its iconic and boisterous cousin, the slightly (?) more reserved and all-new Chrysler Pacifica cruised to first place in the Minivan segment.

Just a few, short weeks ago, the Pacifica also claimed the top spot as the highest-ranking minivan in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study (IQS). Only seven other models in the automotive industry have ever achieved the same back-to-back honor.

“We’re pleased to see results like this as they reflect our commitment to quality, which is evident not only with new product launches like the all-new Chrysler Pacifica, but also in mainstay vehicles like the well-regarded Dodge Challenger,” said Scott Garberding, Head of Quality. “My colleagues and I are focused on not only launching new vehicles with industry innovations and segment firsts, but also consistently improving vehicles in our existing product portfolio.”

But when it comes to APEAL-ing cars, trucks and SUVs from FCA US, the hits just keep on coming.

Dodge Durango rolled away with a second-place finish in the Midsize SUV segment while Dodge Charger claimed a third-place spot in the Large Car segment.

Meanwhile, the Chrysler brand rocketed up the charts with a 41-point improvement over their score in last year’s study, dubbing Chrysler this year’s most improved brand.
